WHERE ARE WE BASED?
We are conducting our study at Sakaerat Biosphere Reserve (SBR), Nakhon Ratchasima Province, Thailand (14.44–14.55°N, 101.88–101.95°E). The reserve has three main zones: a core area (80 km2), and buffer and transition areas (a further 360 km2). Two main forest types compose this biosphere reserve: Dry Evergreen Forest (with covers over 60% of the core area) and Dry Dipterocarp Forest (18%). The latter (DDF) is endemic to Southeast Asia, and Thailand is the country with the greatest area with this forest type.
